Social Media & Plant Content Intern

Social Media & Plant Content Intern

Part-Time | Lebanon, Connecticut | 20 Hours/Week | $19/Hour

Plant Addicts is looking for a creative, outgoing intern to create photo and video content at our farm in Lebanon, Connecticut.

You'll spend your time around the farm finding interesting plants, creating social media videos, taking high-quality plant photos, and helping gardeners understand why they should consider certain plants for their yards.

This person will also be one of the faces of Plant Addicts on videos, so you should be comfortable and natural speaking on camera.

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: Through the Fall Semester

Schedule: Approximately 20 hours per week

Location: Lebanon, Connecticut

Pay: $19/hour

What You'll Do

  • Create short-form videos for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, paid ads, and other marketing channels.
  • Be on camera talking about plants, new varieties, gardening ideas, and plants you personally like.
  • Take attractive plant and lifestyle photography for PlantAddicts.com product pages and marketing.
  • Explain why a customer might want a plant and how it can be used in their landscape.
  • Show how plants can solve common landscaping problems such as privacy, shade, low-maintenance areas, pollinator gardens, or adding long-lasting color.
  • Find plants around the farm that are blooming, looking great, new, unusual, or seasonally relevant and turn them into engaging content.
  • Help brainstorm new social media and advertising content ideas with our marketing team.

What We're Looking For

  • College student studying Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Horticulture, Plant Science, Landscape Design, or a related field.
  • Comfortable speaking and appearing on camera.
  • Strong understanding of social media and what makes short-form content engaging.
  • Creative, personable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently.
  • Able to take quality photos and videos using a smartphone and/or camera.
  • An interest in plants, gardening, landscaping, or outdoor living.

Plant Knowledge Is Preferred

Horticulture experience or plant knowledge is a big plus, but not required. The more you know about plants, the better, since you'll be explaining what makes plants interesting, where they work best, and what problems they can solve for homeowners.

We're equally interested in a great marketing/communications student who loves plants or a horticulture student who is creative, outgoing, and understands social media.

Helpful Skills

  • Photography or videography
  • Video editing using CapCut, Adobe Premiere, or similar tools
  • Canva or other design tools
  • Experience creating TikToks, Reels, or YouTube Shorts
  • Gardening, landscaping, greenhouse, or nursery experience

Why This Internship?

This won't be an internship where you spend the semester watching someone else do marketing. You'll create real content that is published by Plant Addicts and used across our website, social media, email marketing, and paid advertising.

You'll also have access to the huge variety of plants growing at the farm, giving you an opportunity to grow your plant knowledge while building a professional portfolio of marketing, photography, and video work.

How To Apply

Please send your resume and one or more examples of content you've created to humanresources@plantaddicts.com.

Your content samples can be TikToks, Instagram Reels, photography, school projects, personal social media content, or anything else that shows your creativity and communication style.

You do not need a professional portfolio. We're much more interested in seeing your personality, creativity, and ability to create engaging content.
