With a fitting name and stunning flowers, the Oso Easy Ice Bay Rose is just that–easy! This medium-sized rose bush grows 18-30 inches tall and wide and is self-cleaning, allowing you more time to enjoy its beautiful, long-lasting, continuous blooms all summer long. The Oso Easy Ice Bay Rose has gorgeous blooms with petals that transition from creamy, butter yellow at the flower’s center to delicate apricot and pink at its tips, all sitting atop a mound of dark green leaves.
Other great qualities of this beautiful rose bush include disease resistance and low maintenance. This petite rose does not need consistent pruning or deadheading, but does appreciate some shaping in the early spring. Unlike many roses, the Oso Easy Ice Bay does not require regular spraying. This rose can be used as a low-growing hedge, as a standalone specimen, or in a container. Its petite size allows it great flexibility, fitting into any size garden.
Oso Easy® Ice Bay Rose Care
The Oso Easy Ice Bay Rose is grown best in full sun where it can get at least 6 hours of direct sunlight a day. Water this rose regularly, as it prefers moist, well-drained soil. When planting, dig a hole that is at least twice as wide and of the same depth as the root ball. Amend the soil as needed to ensure the roots are not sitting in standing water or drying out too quickly. Apply a rose-specific fertilizer each time the Oso Easy Ice Bay Rose blooms to support continued flower production.
The Oso Easy Ice Bay Rose blooms on new wood. For this reason, this rose can be pruned and shaped in the early spring as new growth is starting to grow. Deadheading old flowers is not necessary. If keeping this rose in a container, it is a good idea to bring it into a protected garage in the winter to prevent any root damage from the cold.
Oso Easy® Ice Bay Rose Spacing
Plant the Oso Easy® Ice Bay Rose 30-36 inches apart from other plants. When creating a hedge, this distance can be reduced by a few inches. When choosing a container, be sure to use one that is larger than the root ball and contains adequate drainage.
