Ooh La™ LaGrande Shasta Daisy brings classic summer cheer with oversized white flowers and sunny yellow centers that hold their color for weeks. Blooming from mid-summer onward, fresh buds keep rising beneath open flowers, extending the display far longer than many standard daisies. The plant forms a dense, upright clump about 18 to 20 inches tall and wide, giving it a balanced look that fits easily into borders and containers. Compared with older Shasta daisies, this selection stays tidier and flowers more consistently through the season. Leucanthemum maximum ‘LaGrande’ USPPAF is one we often suggest for gardeners who want bold blooms without staking or constant fuss.
Beyond the flowers, Ooh La™ LaGrande offers clean green foliage that holds up well through summer heat. The blooms are lightly fragrant and popular with butterflies and other pollinators. Its clump-forming habit makes it easy to manage, with no aggressive spreading. This perennial works well in perennial borders, cottage gardens, cutting gardens, and patio containers where repeat bloom is appreciated. It also mixes nicely with ornamental grasses and summer-flowering perennials for a bright, traditional look.
Ooh La™ LaGrande Shasta Daisy Care
Plant Ooh La™ LaGrande Shasta Daisy in full sun to encourage sturdy stems and abundant blooms, although light afternoon shade is tolerated in warmer regions. It prefers garden soils that drain freely yet retain some moisture. Loam-based soils amended with compost support strong growth, and a soil pH between 6.0 and 7.5 is ideal. During prolonged dry periods, occasional deep watering helps maintain flower quality. A balanced fertilizer applied in spring is usually sufficient for the entire growing season.
Remove spent flowers regularly to keep new buds forming and maintain a neat appearance. Once flowering winds down, stems can be cut back to the base. Every few years, divide mature clumps in spring or early fall to keep plants vigorous and prevent crowding. Container-grown plants may benefit from winter protection in colder zones.
Ooh La™ LaGrande Shasta Daisy Spacing
Space Ooh La™ LaGrande Shasta Daisy about 12 to 14 inches apart so plants can fill in without competing for air and light. This spacing works well for borders and mass plantings with a uniform look. For containers, choose a pot at least 14 inches wide to support the root system and upright habit. Adequate room encourages strong stems and longer-lasting blooms.
